Something fresh has been brewing in East Van, and you can join in the official celebration this weekend. East Van Brewing Company opened their doors in early November, but their grand opening party will be Saturday, January 27, 2018.
Named, obviously, for the community in which their 6,000-square-foot facility is located, East Van Brewing joins the ranks of many popular Vancouver craft brewers up and running in the area.
Located on Venables just west of Commercial Drive, East Van's neighbourhood brewing colleagues include Bomber, Andina, Off The Rail, Strathcona, Strange Fellows, Parallel 49, and Coal Harbour--making for a continually epic craft brew crawl by foot or bicycle.

East Van's lineup of brews include six core beers (Community Lager, Kickstart Pale Ale, Wheelbite IPA, Jive House Ale, Humble Hive Honey Brown, and Unholy One Stout) and six seasonal ones (like their Wet Your Thistle Scotch Ale, or the When It Rains It Porters).
The space is industrial meets upcycled chic, thanks to loads of reclaimed wood and the like. You can even get a set of brews served on a wooden cross--a nod to the iconic East Van neon sign.
For their grand opening, East Van Brewing is celebrating with a family-friendly party on site complete with food trucks, tours, live music, meet the brewer opps, and tastings, and $5 pints and flights--the latter an unbeatable deal. It's happening from noon to 11 pm.
If you can't make it to East Van for the party or soon, you can give their brews a taste at some local pubs and restaurants, like Two Lions, The Morrissey, The London, Biercraft (Commercial Drive), Whiskey Six BBQ, and Royal Dinette.
