North Shore Rescue volunteer Kayla Brolly sits atop a mountain of medical gear recently donated to the team.
The donation, valued at roughly $20,000, comes from the family of the late Lise Marie Claudette Tompson-Cyr, a Horseshoe Bay woman who built a business supplying remote industrial sites with safety equipment and first aid. She died from cancer in 2015.
Among the items included are defibrillators, a stretcher and spine board, blood pressure cuffs, and splints.
“We are proud to be the recipients of a part of the large legacy she leaves behind, and are sure that this equipment will continue to assist in saving lives for years to come,” team member Curtis Jones wrote in a post on North Shore Rescue’s blog.
