Richmond RCMP say they have identified and located the suspect allegedly responsible for the assault of a librarian at a community meeting on housing Wednesday evening.
Cpl. Dennis Hwang said the apparent assault, caught on video, was unrelated to the community presentation being held at Richmond Public Library.
Eyewitness Stan Lomas told the News the suspect appeared to be opposed to the housing project.
Hwang said there will be no more updates at this time.
The News has asked if the suspect is known to police or has mental health issues and whether charges are being considered.
