Time to gear up for another amazing week of events, from laughter to world culture, it seems Vancouver is just buzzing with awesome things to do, from the JFL comedy festival to the Tanga album release party this city has it all. And as always the Do604 team is at hand to give you the low down on all the hottest events, shows and features happening around town starting off with:
We get it, Mondays suck, the awesome weekend ended and it’s back to work, but don’t let that stop you from having fun when the hours get dark. Starting off with a groovy swing party with “Jitterbug Fever” a fantastic tribute to the swing movement, next we have “Reggae Yoga” where you can experience Vancouver’s original sound-powered yoga experience, with Tank Gyal on the decks and Reno teaching it will be epic, oh and did we mention it’s for a good cause too, and finally we have “The Big Coast” rocking out at the Guilt & Company, giving us those beautiful, ultra-hooky indie pop/soul.

Just For Laughs Tuesday:
This Tuesday we have an epic line of JFL comedy shows each with their, own unique brand of comedy. From the incredibly hilarious, loose and ridiculous “Little Mountain Improv”, to the hugely satirical yet touching film “The Death Of Stalin”, they will have you laughing till you burst. Oh and we just had to mention their “JFL Showcase” at the Biltmore. Finally the big wigs of comedy have come down to check out our local talent, and yes we do mean actual wigs.

Culture and Beer Wednesday:
This Wednesday we just had to mention two fantastic events that really show how diverse and cultural Vancouver can be. First we have the incredible world fusion mob “Tanga” releasing their new album at the Fox’ “Reincarnation”. Do not miss this chance to enjoy their wonderful melodies that combine Caribbean beats with Colombian electrocumbia all touched up with a hint of Guatemalan flavour, utterly delightful.
Next we have the launch of 42 brand new beers at the Craft Beer Market, and yes you heard us right, there will be a staggering 42 new craft beers hitting their menu giving drinkers literally an endless choice of fantastic, tasty beer and all proceeds go to the YMCA Annual Campaign. Drinking for a good cause sign us up!

Ladies Night Thursday:
International Women’s day is here, and it’s time to, thank and cherish all the amazing women that have made our lives all the more special, this Thursday we have three fantastic shows lined up, starting off with “Raising Our Voices” at Whistler, where a number of local female musicians are given a venue and all the technical support they need, giving them a chance to shine in front of a live audience, next we have the “International Women’s Day Show” at the Railway Stage & Beer Cafe where the Nimbus School has organised a special showcase of some of Vancouver’s best female artists including Sophia Danai, Haley Blais, She dreams in Colour, Molly Apinall & Rachael Schroeder, with all proceeds going to support the Downtown Eastside Womens Centre. Finally since this week we have such a heavy emphasis on comedy, we just had to mention the beautifully hilarious “Nikki Glaser” who will be performing at Yuk Yuk’s Vancouver.
