If you’ve been pining for the right time to combine drinking beer and throwing axes, it's your lucky day.

The Vancouver Axes & Ales Axe Throwing League begins its two-month exercise in drinking and throwing sharp objects this week.

Each Wednesday through April 25 will see the chucking of axes at the Red Truck Beer Co.’s Truck Stop Diner at 295 East First Ave. No experience is required.

Outside of the personal satisfaction to be had, swag and prizes will be awarded weekly.

“The satisfaction of watching your axe hit the bull’s eye is a genuine thrill,” notes a press release from league organizers.

The weekly toss times are from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and optional practice gets underway at 5:30 p.m.

The $160 registration fee ends today, with costs jumping to $180 until March 14.

“It’s the perfect way to burn off the workday stress and put a big smile on your face,” organizers say.
