VIDEO: This is the real story of the “curse” hanging over Fernie

The second season of our BC Was Awesome show took us deep into the Kootenays to the town of Fernie, right near the B.C./Alberta border.

The story we were trying to get to the bottom of was that of the Ghostrider curse. Some say the entire town had once lived under it – the story has become so ingrained that their junior hockey team is named after it – so we spoke to a number of different folks to get the real story.

The director of the Fernie Museum, Ron Ulrich, gave us some background. Then we spoke to Donald Sam, the Director of Traditional Knowledge & Language for the Ktunaxa Nation.
