Police have arrested and charged two suspects allegedly involved in an assault and robbery against a 61-year-old woman on a bus in Surrey.

The 61-year-old suffered a cracked sternum and a broken arm as a result of the attack on March 20 and police appealed to the public to help them identify the two suspects leading to over 100 tips.

Transit Police have identified the two suspects as 28-year-old Christina Sasha Ponce and 34-year-old Dylan James Miranda. Both suspects are residents of Surrey and turned themselves in to police.

Miranda was interviewed and initially released after promising to appear in court on a recommended charge of mischief. Crown council reviewed his file and issued an arrest warrant for Miranda for charges of assault, theft and mischief. He is scheduled to appear in Vancouver Provincial Court today, at 1:30 p.m., on an unrelated matter.

Ponce has been charged with robbery, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and theft. She has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Surrey Provincial Court on April 6, 2018, 9:30 a.m.
