From 7 am to 7 pm, 7-Eleven will be pouring the coffee, and you will be taking part in one small action that can help save the environment.

Ocean Wise has teamed up with the convenience store chain in Canada for the #BePlasticWise campaign, and the BYOM (Bring Your Own Mug) is their April monthly lifestyle challenge aimed at shifting our every day behaviours when it comes to single-use plastic waste.

That includes things like our daily cup of to-go coffee served in a disposable coffee cups, which have a thin plastic coating that means they head to the landfill, not the recycling bin.

In Vancouver, B.C. alone, about 2.6 million disposable coffee cups enter city landfills every week. Around the world, the equivalent of one dump truck full of plastic waste enters the ocean every minute, threatening aquatic life and marine ecosystems.

On April 12, you can fill your cup with up to 36 ounces of coffee at 7-Eleven and fully customize your drink with your usual add-ins.
