The VPD sent out a quick notice last night regarding a 38-year-old man who apparently crashed into a police cruiser, on purpose, around 7:30pm.

According to police the man pulled up slowly in front of the Vancouver Police headquarters on 5th at Cambie (which is one block west of our office, incidentally), then sped around the block. Nearby officers then watched as he drove through the stop sign at 5th and Yukon. He then stopped in front of a parked police car, threw 'er in reverse and rammed it.

The man then got out of the truck, "was confrontational with officers", and was subsequently arrested.

That's all the information they've provided at this point, but hopefully more will follow.

How did you spend your Friday night?
