Vancouver Fire & Rescue worked overnight to contain a fire that consumed a print shop on the 1400 block of East Pender.
According to a VF&R it was a "difficult and intense fire... [which] quickly escalated to a third alarm because of intensity, fuel load, hazardous materials, and the dense neighbourhood".
The hazmat team was brought in to deal with potential flumes and chemical run-off.
Right now there's an excavator working to pull apart what is now a partially collapsed building as they continue to cool hot spots.
There were no injuries during the response and they managed to keep the fire to the building of origin.
