For those who hesitate to sign up for some of those other dirt-centric running events, the solution is in the soap. As in 2.5 million cubic feat of foam. There's going to be a 5K Foam Fest touring event this summer, and it's making three B.C. stops.

As part of 365 Sport Inc.'s 2018 national tour, 5K Foam Fest will be held across Canada in 15 locations starting on the West Coast. First up: Abbotsford on June 2. This is the closest stop to Vancouver; The 5K Foam Fest will also be in Nanaimo on June 9 and Sun Peaks on June 16.

Walk or run the course, which features a couple dozen obstacles, mud pits, a kids' zone, a 20-foot "sky fall" drop, bouncy castles, a live DJ, and of course, all that sudsy foam. Oh, and if you need to rinse off, take a ride on the world’s tallest portable inflatable waterslide.

There will also be food and drink vendors so you can make a whole day of it. It's absolutely family-friendly, and aimed at having fun (not who finishes first...or foamiest).
