A 30-year-old Vancouver man is in hospital with serious injuries after being assaulted in downtown Vancouver on Saturday night.
Just before 9 p.m. on May 5, Vancouver police officers responded to the report of an injured man near Alberni Street and Thurlow Street.
Police determined that the assault had recently occurred in a nearby building.
The man was rushed by ambulance to hospital where he remains in serious condition.
This investigation is in its early stages and is on-going, police say. However, they believe it was not a random assault and the public is not at risk..
Officers remained in the area to continue gathering evidence and canvas for witnesses.
No arrests have yet been made.
