Squamish Nation releases statement regarding pro-pipeline ads shown on their Burrard bridge billboard

Last week we reported on the above advertisement for Alberta's pro-pipeline campaign which were showing up on a billboard appearing on the Squamish Nation's land just off the Burrard Street bridge. Today the Nation released the following statement:

The billboards on Squamish Nation reserve lands in Vancouver, North Vancouver, and Squamish are leased to a company and not owned by the Squamish Nation. The Squamish Nation has federal and provincial court challenges to Kinder Morgan’s TransMountain Pipeline project because of the risk it has to our community, culture, and economy at risk. However, we have asked these ads be removed from display on our lands.
