A three-year-old boy has been seriously injured after falling out of a third-storey window in Stevetson.

The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. Monday, according to Richmodn RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Dennis Hwang.

“We believe a child may have pushed through a window screen before falling,” said Hwang.

The police reported the incident in the 12000-block of Phoenix Drive. The only three-storey development there is Westwater Village.

While the boy has been taken to hospital, Hwang reminded parents to keep windows and doors secure.

"In lieu of the warm weather we’ve been experiencing, we do recommend parents keep track of children at all times, especially at any screen doors. Screens might seem more secure than how they actually are,” said Hwang.
