A 25-year-old Vancouver man has died after being struck by an SUV on Cambie Street.

The collision occurred just after 3 a.m. Sunday morning mid-block between West 19th an 20th Avenue.

Vancouver police say the man, who was a pedestrian, was struck by a northbound blue SUV. He was rushed to hospital but died of his injuriies.

The driver of the SUV is a 39-year-old woman from Richmond. She was not physically injured and is cooperating with police. Driver impairment does not appear to be a factor in the collision, police say.

This is Vancouver’s fourth fatal pedestrian collision in 2018.

Officers from VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have been driving in the area around 3 a.m. and has dash-cam footage. Anyone with information is asked to call 604-717-3012.
