Donut breakfast sandwiches at Tim Hortons

Tim Hortons is introducing a Honey Dip Donut Breakfast Sandwich to celebrate National Donut Day. The food mash-up item will be available at all Tim Hortons locations while supplies last the morning of June 1, with sales ending at noon.

Summer Sundaes at The Pie Hole

Every day is for liking sundaes at the Pie Hole, thanks to their new pie sundae event. The bakeshop's Fraser Street (Vancouver) location will be scooping up these unique creations now through early June, with a new flavour each week. May 28 to June 3 stars the Strawberry Rhubarb Sundae (Double Butter Crust baked into a bowl filled with a freshly made compote of organic Black Table Farm BC grown rhubarb and strawberries, a scoop of Rocky Point Vanilla Ice Cream, and topped with fresh Island Farms whipped cream and a buttery crumble) while June 4-10 is the Banana Cream Pie Sundae (Double Butter Crust baked into a bowl filled our award winning banana cream filling, a scoop of Rocky Point Vanilla Ice Cream, topped with fresh sliced banana, house made caramel sauce and banana bread crumble).

Shipyards Night Market

Running May 4 to September 28, 2018, the Shipyards Night Market will once again liven up Shipbuilders’ Square in North Vancouver’s lower Lonsdale with over 100 vendors, including food trucks, and a 19+ beer garden. With a “hot food alley” stacked with dozens of food trucks, the Shipyards Night Market is one of the summer’s most delicious pop-up weekend eats destinations. Plus sip on craft beer and cider in the beer garden, shop from the many vendor stalls, and enjoy live entertainment.

When: Fridays from 5 to 10 pm, May 4 to September 28, 2018

Richmond Night Market

Midway games, vendor booths, live entertainment, and an insane amount of food will once again draw crowds at the Richmond Night Market. The market consistently offers an impressive quantity of options for shopping and eating–they have over 100 food stalls and 200 vendors.

When: May 11 to October 8, 2018. 7 pm – midnight Fridays and Saturdays, 7 pm – 11 pm Sundays and holiday Mondays

Ice Cream Socials at Beta5

Summer is the sweetest time of year in Vancouver, made even sweeter by the creative treats being served up at the Ice Cream Socials every weekend at Beta5. The wildly inventive sundaes Beta5 will have on offer for their Ice Cream Socials are all inspired by pop music. They’ll be running Ice Cream Socials every weekend through the summer, so check their social media or website for details about what tune and its companion sundae is on deck next.

When: Every weekend in June from 1 to 5 pm

Great British Tea Party

For the Great British Tea Party, Notch8 is pulling out all the stops: Vintage décor, bunting, Union Jacks, and a red telephone booth can be found in the restaurant’s Private Dining Room. There’s Coronation Chicken, roast beef and stilton, and egg salad tea sandwiches; Eton Mess; scones and Devonshire cream; and plenty of house-made UK-inspired pastries.

When: Now through September 3, 2018. Seatings at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm

Longtail Kitchen Anniversary Dinner

Chefs Angus An and Justin Cheung of Longtail Kitchen are teaming up with Vancouver Magazine’s 2018 Chef of the Year, Alex Chen of Boulevard, to host a very special anniversary dinner. The ticketed event is a nod to the very first pop-up dinner hosted at Longtail five years ago, bringing back Chen, the first chef to cook alongside chefs An and Cheung as part of a series of pop-up dinners. The throw-back event will see a delicious Thai-style feast served, paired with flights of sparkling wine selected by That’s Life Gourmet.

Vancouver Craft Beer Week

This one’s for the beer (and cider!) lovers. Vancouver Craft Beer Week is now in its ninth year, and comes with 10 days packed with sudsy programming and lots and lots of opportunities to taste beer. From numerous events taking place around Metro Vancouver to the epic two-day VCBW Festival on the PNE Grounds (June 2-3), this is the ultimate event for local beer fans. Get your tickets to crush it!

Free ice cream at new Cacao 70

Cacao 70 Dip Shop is offering free ice cream and Belgian waffles with chocolate dips to celebrate the grand opening of its new Richmond location. Visit the Cacao 70 Dip Shop (3866 Bayview Street, Richmond) from 2 to 6 pm on Saturday, June 2 to get a free sweet treat and beat the summer heat. The shop has dips in a variety of flavours including peanut butter, black sesame, chai, praline, maple, coffee plus milk, dark and white chocolate.

Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival

Get ready to get your fill of fab food served up from kitchens on four wheels. The Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival brings together two dozen food trucks from all over the Metro region, along with plenty more fun things for the whole fam to do.The fest is not only about food trucks, but also shopping opportunities from their artisan market, along with family-oriented fun like face painting, ballon twisting, and for the younger set, Paw Patrol. Admission is totally free, just bring your bucks for food and the vendors.

Sunday Supper Series at H2

Every Sunday year-round, leave the cooking to H2 and enjoy a three-course chicken dinner with all the fixings. The menu includes: warm olive bread; H2’s famed house rotisserie Maple Hill Farms chicken with mashed potato, grilled asparagus, honey roasted carrots, mini challah bun and gluten-free chicken gravy; and, for dessert, a choice of Eton Mess, chocolate peanut-butter bar, New York-style cheesecake, s’mores skillet or apple-peach crumble.

Negroni Week 2018

Every year during the first full week of June, bars and restaurants around the world pay tribute to the classic Italian cocktail, the Negroni, during a popular annual event known, fittingly, as Negroni Week. For Negroni Week, participating venues offer up their own renditions, available to customers with proceeds going to a charity of choice. There are 60 spots in Metro Vancouver taking part this year; you can find a full roster of local venues stirring things up on the Negroni scene for this special fundraising week on the Negroni Week website, just search for Vancouver.

PiDGiN x Heritage Asian Eatery Collab Dinner

Heritage Asian Eatery executive chef and co-owner Felix Zhou will bring his signature modern Eastern cuisine to the kitchen at Gastown’s PiDGiN for an exclusive guest chef dinner on Tuesday, June 5. Zhou will work alongside PiDGiN executive chef Wesley Young to prepare a five-course family style dinner featuring an array of unique, Asian-inspired dishes such as albacore tuna with asparagus, scallion sauce and Japanese charcoal; sturgeon with curried tonkatsu broth; and roasted duck breast with Peking sauce, stuffed morels, alliums and scallion pancake.

West End Cocktail Crawl

On June 7, Vancouver Gourmet Tours will offer a unique cocktail & food pairing experience at three of the best restaurants/bars in the West End. Enjoy sip-delicious libations from the city’s top mixologists, learn about Vancouver’s integral role in the new trend of the cocktail culture, and taste the signature appetizer. What a fantastic way to have a gourmet experience over a cocktail hop, and what a fun way to meet some new friends. Participants will have 2.5 hours to complete the crawl. Each will receive one cocktail and a small appetizer at each crawl stop. They will be assigned to three groups with three different routes to complete the crawl.

Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar ‘Generations Wine Dinner’ with Blue Mountain Vineyards

Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar will welcome a flagship family winery from the South Okanagan region when the restaurant co-hosts a Generations Wine Dinner with Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars. The one-night-only event — which is limited to 30 guests — will feature a reception and a four-course menu of Boulevard’s signature, West Coast-inspired fare prepared by Executive Chef Roger Ma paired with the unique insights and expertise of Blue Mountain father-daughter ownership duo Ian and Christie Mavety. During each course, Ian will present and provide tasting notes for a rare library wine from the Blue Mountain cellars, while Christie will detail a corresponding current vintage.

The Vegan Wine + Cheese Series: Edition #1 Sip + Savour

The Vegan Project and Nutritionist Nikki Hurst have teamed up to bring Vancouver The Vegan Wine + Cheese Series. This first event Sip + Savour is focused on: Teaching you an easy recipe for cheese making at home; Sampling a few different cheese flavours and techniques alongside local fruits and vegetables provided by BE FRESH Local Market; Enjoying vegan-friendly Alive Organic White or Red Wine from Summerhill Pyramid Winery or Kombucha, and learning what makes a wine "vegan-friendly."

Chef Meets Truck

The Chefs' Table Society of BC, in partnership with the Yaletown BIA, is hosting the event Chef Meets Truck in Yaletown at the intersection of Hamilton and Nelson. The event will feature restaurant chefs hopping on board local food trucks to serve up the foodie event of the season. This collaborative event will feature some of Vancouver’s top culinary talent, including Felix Zhou of Heritage Asian Eatery, Bryan Satterford of Juke Fried Chicken and Tony Starratt from Two Rivers Meats.

When: Tuesday June 12 from 6 to 9 pm

Where: Yaletown (Hamilton and Nelson)

Pairings at Science World

Science World  is having its inaugural food and wine event, Pairings—a gourmet evening with a dash of science, on June 13. This event explores the fascinating science behind food and wine pairings and supports Science World’s Super Science Club. Event-goers will sip on a selection of fine wines from Oliver’s Golden Mile Bench, the wine capital of Canada, while savouring delectable gourmet bites prepared by some of BC’s most renowned chefs and restaurants from the Okanagan Valley and Vancouver. What makes this event so unique is the science behind the food and wine pairings. Tickets to Pairings include an exclusive viewing of Science World’s newest exhibition The Science Behind Pixar, live demonstrations, a battle for the Best Dish, a silent auction, live music and hands-on Science World activities.

L’Abattoir Guest Chef Dinner:  ‘From Australia to Canada’s Rocky Mountains and West Coast’

L’Abattoir chef and owner Lee Cooper will host Australian chef Mark Best (San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants), alongside Calgary-based chef Darren MacLean of Shokunin for a spectacular six-course dinner with wine pairings. The guest chef dinner will be held in L’Abattoir’s private room, tucked away in a refurbished 19th-century brick-and-beam heritage building located behind the main dining room.

Seafood Boil at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar

Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar kicks off their annual summer seafood boil series on Sunday, June 17. Back for its fourth consecutive year, the popular Sunday dinner series takes place on Boulevard’s picturesque downtown patio. Executive Chef Roger Ma and their talented culinary team will once again unveil a bounty of fresh-caught seafood, including jumbo prawns, clams, mussels, crawfish and Dungeness crab. Guests are invited to pull up a chair and tuck into a true, East Coast-inspired communal seafood spread piled high on butcher’s paper and served with all the fixings, including Boulevard’s signature bacon cornbread and sweet Beignets for dessert.

Chinese Tea Appreciation Workshop: Beginners

Head to the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden to relax the mind, relieve stress, and enjoy traditional Chinese tea in the beautiful garden courtyard. During the tea workshop, participants will sample high quality teas from Asia and learn about Chinese culture, tea accessories, tea production, tea types, and the benefits of Chinese tea. The workshop is structured as an introduction to Chinese tea for adults.

Terra Plant-Based Pop-Up Dinner

This is the second in a series from this local group focused on serving beautiful vegan, gluten-free food using fresh seasonal ingredients. Showcasing the seasonality of spring and early summer, Terra's pop-up dinner at the Juice Truck shop on 5th Avenue will also include option to add wine pairings to the meal.

Rosé Vancouver

Dedicated entirely to rosé wines of every kind and hue, Rosé Vancouver attendees will be able to sip on sweet, dry, and sparkling rosés, along with eating tasty small bites and enjoying summery tunes. The event takes place at the Settlement Building and is open to rosé lovers of legal drinking age only.

Tacofino Beer Dinner Series: Port Moody Brewers Row

On Thursday, June 28, Port Moody Brewers Row and Tacofino will team up for a five-course dinner at our Hastings Sunrise location. With two seatings at 6 pm and 8:30 pm, the dinner will showcase beer from The Parkside Brewery, Moody Ales, Yellow Dog Brewing Co. and Twin Sails Brewing paired with brand new Tacofino dishes created by Executive Chef Stefan Hartmann and Head Chef James You.
