All the city’s water parks are set to open this weekend, just in time for the return of warmer weather.

There are 14 water parks in Vancouver and all will be open by Saturday to “delight with unexpected water spouts, cannon streams, flower showers, and more,” the Vancouver Park Board says on its website.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement Friday saying that a major shift in the weather pattern will bring the first heat wave of the season. Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-20s on the coast and higher inland by Sunday.

All water parks will remain open during the first stage of watering restrictions in the region, which have been in place since May 1. Every park is now outfitted with push buttons that turn the water on for five minutes at a time.

Most parks have limited or no supervision and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
