Field & Social is opening a second Vancouver location

Downtown's Insta-goals salad shop, Field & Social, is expanding. They recently revealed they will be opening a second Vancouver location.

Co-owner Barbora Samieian tells Vancouver Is Awesome via telephone that while the new address is under wraps, we can share that Field & Social is headed to Vancouver's financial district, in a transit-handy underground spot perfect for all those downtowners who can't make it to their Dunsmuir flagship for their lunch (or dinner).

Field & Social's second location will be about 900 square feet*, and will be largely a take-out operation, though there will be limited seating available thanks to a couple of small tables outside the door and a couple of counter seats.

The menu will be the same as the original location, says Samieian, which means we can expect an array of salads assembled to order using fresh, seasonal, locally-sourced produce and proteins. Customers can choose from the set menu of salads easily tailored on the spot to taste--like less dressing or added ingredients.

Some of F&S's signature salads include the Field Cobb, the Maple Tahini, and the Kale Caesar. Add-ons are things like a ramen egg, avocado, and smoked chicken thigh, and their local vendors include Tempea (for tempeh) and Blue Heron (for plant-based cheese).

Order on the spot, or use the website or Apple and Android app to pre-order and simply pop in to truly grab-and-go. Though lunch is primarily Field & Social's bread and butter (or should we say lettuce and dressing?), they will be open a little into the evening, a particular boon for those working in the area who may want to pick up a healthy dinner before heading to the SkyTrain or onto the evening's activities.

Another exciting element of expansion is that this means Field & Social can grow their working relationships with the many small-scale producers and farmers they work with.

Aesthetically, the second Field & Social will be in line with the flagship, and will use many of the same materials, though the space itself is quite a different template, since it's smaller and underground.

Field & Social is currently getting into the space and is working on the build-out, and hopes to be open by mid- to late fall. Once they open, the second location will also operate Monday through Saturdays.

Keep an eye on Field & Social on Instagram for updates on their second location, including the exact address, which should be released soon.
