See 3 new murals and drink in an all-ages craft beer garden at the Strathcona Street Party

Give summer a very Vancouver welcome this weekend with this family-friendly event that will include the unveiling of three new murals, five live artists, and that unicorn of the public drinking realm: a licensed craft beer garden that's also all-ages.

Give summer a very Vancouver welcome this weekend with this family-friendly event that will include the unveiling of three new murals, five live artists, and that unicorn of the public drinking realm: a licensed craft beer garden that's also all-ages.

The Strathcona Street Party takes place Saturday, June 23 from noon to 8 pm, and is put on in cooperation with the Vancouver Mural Festival and Made In Strathcona, so you know this is all about everything colourful and community.

Three new murals will be on view, plus there will be on-site artists creating work, DJ sets, street dance battles, and all sorts of other fun activities--including a community paint-by-numbers project you can contribute to.

For your eating and drinking pleasure, the Street Party will feature food trucks (like Disco Cheetah, Golden Era Burgers, Come Arepa, and Earnest Ice Cream), a kombucha tasting lounge by Hoochy 'Booch Kombucha, and that awesome beer garden, hosted by Vancouver Craft Beer Week. And, yes, you'll have to be 19+ with ID to drink, but you can enjoy the space with your family in tow, too.

The Strathcona Street Party is also a great chance to meet and mingle local changemakers and learn about what's coming to the 'hood, like a new community centre.
