Police in the North Shore are urging residents to be vigilant and review personal safety with children in their care after a series of indecent act reports.

The West Vancouver Police and North Vancouver RCMP have received a total of five reports involving a male driver calling out to young children from his vehicle and asking them to give him directions.

In four of the reports the children went to the side of the suspect's vehicle and noticed that the man had his genitals exposed. In all cases, the children, ranging in age from 10 to 16, quickly moved away from the vehicle and the suspect drove away.

The male suspect is described as being between 40 to 50 years of age, olive skinned, stocky build, and having short black hair. Descriptions of his clothing have been varied but his vehicle is described as being a grey newer model Nissan Rogue SUV.

North Vancouver RCMP and West Vancouver Police continue to actively investigate these reported incidents and have not located the suspect despite extensive patrols following the individual reports.

Police are jointly issuing a composite drawing of the suspect along with an appeal for anyone with any information that could assist investigators to contact either North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 or West Vancouver Police at 604-925-7300.
