Someone from the public recognized the offender on Granville Street near Davie at 10pm last night.
Police have now taken him into custody.
The takeaway for everyone, including criminals on the lam? Be careful on the Granville strip after dark.

The Ontario Provincial Police have issued a statement regarding a federal offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant, believed to be in Vancouver.
They describe Marcel Lawson as an Indigenous male, 36 years old, 5’10’’ (178cm), 210 lbs. (95kg) with short black hair and brown eyes. Tattooed on right forearm is the word “MATHU”, with roses and a Skull. On his left forearm he has tattooed a Canada Flag and a Koi fish. He also has tattoos on both wrists.
Lawson is in breach of a Long Term Supervision Order relating to convictions of Sexual Assault and Sexual Interference.
He is believed to be in Vancouver. Anyone who sees Mr. Lawson is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
