V.I.A. Podcast Ep. 31: It's a bird, it's a plane, it's an airborne ant orgy!

This week's episode of the V.I.A. Podcast should come with a warning: We're going to talk about sex. Specifically the mating habits of flying ants, which had people talking (and simultaneously shutting their mouths) all over Vancouver recently.

This week's episode of the V.I.A. Podcast should come with a warning: We're going to talk about sex. Specifically the mating habits of flying ants, which had people talking (and simultaneously shutting their mouths) all over Vancouver recently.

Lindsay and guest co-host Adam sit down with Michael Kissinger, the City Editor of the Vancouver Courier, whose own close encounter of the gross kind landed him the new distinction of being our resident ant procreation specialist. He walks us through covering the story, and it's a cautionary tale of sorts; the ants are going to be doing it in Vancouver's skies throughout the summer.

We also talk about a hot button issue of a very different time: The local restaurant employee who was fired after refusing to serve a patron who was wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat. Where do you stand, with the employee or the restaurant or the hat-wearer? Let us know! You can tweet us @viawesome, or comment on this post on Facebook.

Last up, we talk about a couple of awesome things: The upcoming doc on Bryant "Big Country" Reeves, and riding a 106-year-old Interurban Streetcar that was the last one ever to be in service in Metro Vancouver.
