Joe Fresh has announced that starting today, July 19, they will now offer activewear in extended sizes 0-22 (XS - 3X).

Last year, the company expanded its sizes for women's casual clothing from 0-16 to 0-22 and now the athletic clothing will be offered in sizes to accommodate women of all body types.

"When we launched extended sizing a year ago, the feedback was extremely positive," says president Ian Freedman. "We knew that an extended size range was something that our customers had been looking for" and will "meet the needs of more women."

Joe Fresh has over 1,450 locations across the country including inside Loblaws and Shoppers Drugmart stores.

According to a 2012 Macleans story the average Canadian woman wears size 33 (or large) pants and weighs 155 lbs.

About 53 per cent of Canadians are physically active (getting at least 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity at least once a week) but the number rises to 58.3 per cent for British Columbians.

In a recent interview, plus size model, body positive activist and Vancouver resident Ruby Roxx says things are slowly evolving as brands start to consider input from average customers.
