As luck would have it, the name Torafuku translates from Japanese as "Lucky Tiger," and the tiger is the Chinese astrological symbol for three, which means a banner celebration for owners Clement Chan and Steve Kuan.

The duo, who opened Torafuku after rolling out their enduringly popular Le Tigre food truck in Vancouver, continue to refine their West Coast-infused approach to modern Asian fare on the plate and from the bar.

Stick around for dinner and check out a fresh new summery menu of dishes that make use of the best of seasonal produce, often bought just down the street at the weekly farmers' market, and playful takes with bold flavours. Shout out to the incredible Uni-Corn, (Nero spaghetti, roasted corn, garlic buttered spot prawns, snow crab, herb crumble, and uni bisque) which is a decadent and crave-worthy creation.

Among the new cocktails created by Kuan is the O My Sake, made with Senkin Junmai Sake, pear juice, lime, Japanese green tea syrup and smokey pear bitters. Go wish the talented team at Torafuku a happy number three.

Torafuku is located at 958 Main Street in Vancouver.
