This bear in a bathtub is basically doing what every Vancouverite wants to this week (VIDEO)

You can stand in front of a fan, guzzle ice cold beer, or head for the shore, but there isn't much of anything else you can do that will cool you down completely in a heat wave like we're having than a leisurely soak in a giant tub.

You can stand in front of a fan, guzzle ice cold beer, or head for the shore, but there isn't much of anything else you can do that will cool you down completely in a heat wave like we're having than a leisurely soak in a giant tub.

Kind of like...this:

This is Takoda. He's a black bear being cared for at the Oregon Zoo in Portland, and in the video, released Wednesday, Takoda is basically doing what all of us in this Vancouver heat wave wish we could be: Chilling in a tub.

Now, sometimes this scene really does play out in real life here in Metro Vancouver. In August 2015, a black bear took a dip in the backyard swimming pool of some residents in the North Vancouver community of Blueridge.

Mind you, no one parties like a Southern California bear, who really was living their best life when they settled into a hot tub with a margarita earlier this summer.

While us humans (and bears under close professional supervision) can find respite from the summer heat with a cool soak, if you do happen to find a bear near where you're trying to chill out in the city, for crying out loud, don't try to feed it out of your hand.

When it comes to bears and hot spells, just remember to do your best to keep your cool.
