The Vancouver Whitecaps will bring rainbow colours to the field at BC Place for the annual Pride Night game tonight at 7 p.m. facing Minnesota United.

The Whitecaps are collaborating with the Vancouver Pride Society and other LGBTQ organizations to celebrate inclusion and diversity.

Both teams will sport rainbow-crested jerseys as they battle for a MLS playoff spot.

The Whitecaps and United are currently sitting below the cut-off in the Western Conference and separated by two points in the standings.

United have won their last three league matches, but the Whitecaps are coming off the high of punching their ticket to the Canadian Championship final with a 2-0 (2-1 aggregate) victory over the Montreal Impact on Wednesday.

Multi-coloured Whitecaps signs will be placed in each seat for fans to raise up to turn the seating section into a rainbow. Athletes representing Canada in the Paris 2018 Gay Games will be attending the game.

There will be a pre-match BBQ at the patio on Terry Fox Plaza starting at 5 p.m. with a drag show and lip-sync performance by Conni Smudge.

Catch a skating performance from the Terminal City Roller Girls and Vancouver Skate Squad.

There will be a dance-off for the chance to win a Unity jersey and fans are encouraged to March to the Match, which leaves Victory Square at 5:45 p.m.

Allow extra time to travel to and from the game as tonight also marks the first evening of the Honda Celebration of Lights fireworks, which start at 10 p.m.

TransLink has added extra service to accommodate the crowds but expect tonight to be a busy one on the buses, trains and roads.
