Orcas spotted in Howe Sound

"Experienced something pretty spectacular yesterday in our beautiful backyard," she told The Chief on Tuesday. "It was unbelievable!"

The killer whale or orca (Orcinus orca) is highly social.

Resident killer whales’ social organization is based on small mother-led (matrilineal) groups called matrilines, which can include three to fifteen individuals, according to the Vancouver Aquarium.
