Lisa Lou's Chocolate Bar quietly shuttered this summer

One of Vancouver's sweetest spots is no more: Lisa Lou's Chocolate Bar closed its doors recently after just under two years in business.

One of Vancouver's sweetest spots is no more: Lisa Lou's Chocolate Bar closed its doors recently after just under two years in business.

Lisa Lou is Lisa Gardin, a talented pastry chef and chocolatier with significant local and global experience.

At her shop, Gardin offered her line of chocolate bars (with fun people names), treats like candied nuts and brittles, cakes and bars, cheesecake, and handmade ice creams and sorbets.

An alumn of Whole Foods, Gardin's Lisa Lou was among the many local producers selected to have her products sold at the grocer's impressive new North Vancouver location; you may still find some inventory of her sweets there, and through online grocer Spud, who are still showing some of her goodies in stock.

We confirmed the closure of the shop at 1007 Main Street with Gardin via direct message on the shop's Instagram account, however soon after, that account, as well as the store's website and other social media accounts were closed.

Lisa Lou's Chocolate Bar was a bit of a hidden gem, and it will be missed by those who knew it and loved it. Hopefully we'll see Gardin back in the sweets scene soon.
