Police were called in at about 6:15 a.m. for a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV on West Broadway near Yew Street.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 54-year-old Burnaby man, died at the scene.
Police say the driver of the SUV, a 64-year-old Vancouver man, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the police investigation.
This is Vancouver’s seventh traffic-related fatality in 2018.
Officers from VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have been driving in the area between 6 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. and has dash-cam footage.
