Metro Vancouver's air quality is at 10+ on Environment Canada's Air Quality Health Index, which is considered to be at a 'very high risk' -- but how bad is it really?

The app Sh**t! I Smoke converts air quality into the number of cigarettes a person will smoke in a day to help you get a better idea of the impact B.C. wildfire smoke can have on our lungs.

In Vancouver we're smoking over seven cigarettes today, according to the app:

In Burnaby you'll be smoking the equivalent of eight cigarettes today just by breathing in the air:

In Fort St. John the air quality is a bit worse:

In Prince George the air quality is much worse prompting a WTF reaction from the app:

The app was developed by Amaury Martiny and was inspired by Berkley Earth's findings about the equivalence between air pollution and cigarette smoking.

One cigarette per day is roughly equivalent to PM2.5 level of 22ug/m3, according to the app.
