Dress in your best all-black outfit, fill up a picnic basket, bring a blanket and head down to Creekside Park this Thursday for Vancouver's 4th annual Ce Soir Noir.

Ce Soir Noir was created by artists George Vergette and Graeme Berglund as a tongue in cheek response to the upscale Diner En Blanc, which requires dinner guests to dress in all-white clothing.

Diner En Blanc returns for a 7th year on August 23 in a yet-to-be-revealed location and was inspired by the Paris Diner En Blanc, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

The organizers of the all-black picnic invite attendees to "do next-to-nothing" and be part of the "picnic-based art installation" in Creekside Park -- a change of location from previous years when the event was held in CRAB Park.

Everyone is asked to bring a non-perishable food item with them to donate to Backpack Buddies, which provides kids in need with a backpack of food on Fridays to help fill the weekend hunger gap.

Attendees are reminded to clean up and take all of their belongings with them at the end of the night to ensure the park stays as clean as possible.

Ce Soir Noir is happening in Creekside Park on Thursday, August 23 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
