Australian artist Patricia Piccinini's immersive sculpture exhibition Curious Imaginings is coming to Vancouver this September as part of the 2018-2020 Vancouver Biennale.

The exhibition brings together art, science and ethics keeping with the Biennale's 2018-2020 theme of re-IMAGE-n and will take place inside the Patricia Hotel.

Piccinini's hyperrealist “world of oddly captivating, somewhat grotesque, human-animal hybrid creatures”  will “challenge us to explore the social impacts of emerging biotechnology and our ethical limits in an age where genetic engineering and digital technologies are already pushing the boundaries of humanity,” according to the press release.

Tickets are currently on sale for Curious Imaginings, which will run at the Patricia Hotel from September 14 until December 15. Early bird tickets are $14 for adults, $11 for students and seniors, and $35 for a family of four.
