The Vancouver Park Board is accepting applications for its Fieldhouse Activation Program, which provides space for community art, culture, sport, environment or local food projects.

Applicants can be artists, athletes, non-profit organizations, collectives or local groups focused on one of the priority themes mentioned above.

There are six fieldhouses that give preference to activities or projects focused on a certain area. For example, proposals focused on local food and environment take priorty for Moberly Park and Strathcona Park.

The Park Board strongly suggests that people visit one of the 22 fieldhouses, attend their events and chat with local artists about their fieldhouse experiences before starting their application.

Groups have to maintain an active year-round presence putting in 350 hours in exchange for using the space for free. The Park Board takes care of all building maintenance.

The deadline to apply to the program is 5 p.m. on September 17 and the activation runs from January 2019 to December 31, 2021.
