Charge laid in connection to murder of tourist near Boston Bar

A man has been charged in the connection with the death of a Belgian tourist last month near Boston Bar. IHIT is holding a media availability later this morning to release more information.

IHIT has identified 27-yr-old Sean McKenzie of Oliver, BC as being charged with first degree murder in Amelie Sakkalis' death.

They've released the photos of him below and are asking anyone to call them at 1-877-551-4448 if you saw Amelie with Sean McKenzie on August 22nd, 2018.

8:35AM SEPT 17:

Global News is reporting that a charge has been made in the case of a tourist who was murdered near Boston Bar in August.

28-year-old Belgian national, Amelie Christelle Sakkalis, was found dead in the Fraser Canyon, as we previously reported.

Citing court records, Global notes that Sean McKenzie will appear in Chilliwack Provincial Court this Wednesday in connection to the murder.

IHIT is holding a media availability at 10am this morning, where more details will be released.
