We already knew that Pizza Pizza was sliding in hot in Kitsilano at 1893 Cornwall Avenue, but they also have plans to open elsewhere between late 2018 and early 2019 at the following locations:

  • 4461 Lougheed Highway, Burnaby
  • 2370 152nd Street, Surrey
  • 715 Marine Drive, North Vancouver
  • 5717 152nd Street, Surrey
  • 380 112th Street, Delta

Pizza Pizza goes way, way back to December 31, 1967 in Toronto, then growing in the Ontario market into the 1990s, and coming and going from Quebec in the 1980s and the early 2000s.

When it comes to west of the rockies, things have been, well, rocky, for Pizza Pizza. They entered the market in B.C. in 2009, then ended up closing all their locations. Until now.

"The Pizza Pizza brand has an incredible existing customer base across Canada, so we are thrilled to begin offering a new pizza option for British Columbians, that the rest of the country knows and loves," explains Paul Goddard, CEO at Pizza Pizza Limited in a media release.

"We know how much British Columbians love their pizza so we have big plans for the West Coast, and are looking to build significant market presence in the Greater Vancouver area, and beyond, in the coming years," added Goddard.

Pizza Pizza has many claims to fame in Canadian pizza lore, including being the first to delivery pizza in an insulated bag and other marketing and advertising innovations. In March 2017 they added vegan cheese to their menu.

In July 2018, the franchise also launched the first-ever quick service restaurant cauliflower-based pizza crust. They’re also known for their sing-songy jingle using their distinct “eleven-eleven” phone number--which they will be duplicating here in the lower mainland.
