Nepper was taken to hospital but died that afternoon.

On Friday, two more charges were laid against him for a total of four charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault and possessing and sending an explosive device.

Nepper's brother, Roger Nepper, suffered serious injuries and lost several fingers on his right hand when he opened a package at his home in Port Alice, B.C., on Sept. 11.

Leon Nepper was to appear in Yukon Territorial Court on Oct. 5.

The coroners' service says an autopsy will be conducted in Vancouver.

The RCMP and the coroner are investigating the death.
