West Vancouver's PumpkinFest will transport you into an autumnal wonderland

PumpkinFest returns to West Vancouver with its annual, fun-filled event that its perfect for the whole family. To celebrate the harvest season, the festival is held at the West Vancouver Community Centre on September 30th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

PumpkinFest returns to West Vancouver with its annual, fun-filled event that its perfect for the whole family.

To celebrate the harvest season, the festival is held at the West Vancouver Community Centre on September 30th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Not only does the event include pony rides, a petting farm and even pig walking, but this year kids even get the chance to ride a tractor on a miniature course. What's more, kids have the opportunity to learn to milk a cow with the Mobile Dairy Classroom. Further, they can explore the Antique Farm Equipment and make buttons. 

Guests may also pick their favourite pumpkin for $5 each from the pumpkin patch.

There will also  be plenty of live music and entertainment, kids adventure race and games, interactive Lego Wonderland with David Brear of DKB Consulting, “Keep on Building” in the Seniors' Activity Centre, artisan market, face painting, photo booth and dunk tank, with displays from West Van Police, Fire & Rescue, BC Ambulance, Vancouver Aquarium and lots more.

In addition, guests may enjoy a free swim, skate, gymnastics and weight room during limited times.

Guests may also sample food from the following vendors:

  • BBQ hosted by Ambleside Tiddly Cove Lions Club
  • Fresh Street Market,
  • Pizza by Panago Pizza,
  • Chili and Buns for Bean Around the World,
  • Donuts by Dees Donuts,
  • Frozen Yoghurt by TCBY. 

There will be a licensed cafeteria & festive patio BBQ at the Seniors’ Activity Centre as well as seasonal Pumpkin Lattes and Afternoon Tea and Treats from 12pm -2pm.

Guests may also enjoy a variety of contests, which include:

  • Home and Harvest – Submit home grown jams, fruit, veggies, textiles, baking – new this year Strangest Shaped Vegetable! https://www.wvcommunitycentressociety.ca/home-harvest-contest
  • Pumpkin Carving Contest  - Carve a pumpkin, drop off on Saturday September 29 – members of public vote for the winner
  • Scarecrow Scramble – Sponsored by Park Royal with 12.00pm kick off. Grab a friend, family – everything provided – 15 minutes to create a scarecrow masterpiece – prize for the best dressed!

Admission to the event is free, but it is a signature fundraiser of the West Vancouver Community Centre. As a result, all of its proceeds will go to support and enhance programs and equipment at the West Vancouver Community Centre, Ice Arena & Aquatic Centre.

Over the last seven years, the even has raised over $275,000 to support and enhance programs and services at the West Vancouver Community Centre, Aquatic Centre and Ice Arena.
