Vancouver pedestrian killed on South East Marine Drive near Ross Street

A Vancouver pedestrian was killed as he attempted to cross the street on Marine Drive near Ross Street when he was struck by a sedan.

Vancouver Police are asking the public to come forward with any information they may have about about a collision that claimed the life of a man.

On Wednesday, October 18, just after 6 am, a 43-year-old Vancouver man was driving a sedan east on Marine Drive when his vehicle struck a pedestrian who was crossing mid-block near Ross Street.

Several citizens provided the Vancouver pedestrian with first aid until paramedics arrived and rushed him to hospital, but the man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver, his wife, and small child were taken to hospital for medical assessment. In addition, he is cooperating with the investigators.

While the identity of the deceased hasn't been confirmed, but the VPD is working with the BC Coroners Service.

The VPD stated that this is Vancouver’s fifth pedestrian fatality in 2018.
