The best sunny fall day activities to enjoy in Metro Vancouver before it rains

We've compiled a list of the best sunny fall day activities to enjoy before things get wetter in the Lower Mainland so you can make the most of the season.

While Metro Vancouver enjoyed a long stretch of beautiful, sunny days and inland temperatures of up to 21 degrees, the weather forecast calls for rain next week.

As such, we've compiled a list of the best sunny fall day activities to enjoy before things get wetter in the Lower Mainland.

Sunny Fall Day Activities

Pumpkin Patch

If you haven't visited a pumpkin patch yet, you absolutely must! Not only are they fun, but they are the perfect place to take pictures with your friends, family or significant other on a sunny day. What's more, the Lower Mainland has a number of these delightful places, so you can even visit more than one! Enjoy a good ol’ fashioned hay ride, a nice glass of wine, or a slice of delectable apple pie.

Scary Corn Maze

You can tackle the “five acres of pure terror” at the Maan Farms Haunted Corn maze as part of their seasonal celebrations. “From the city all you can hear are the screams resonating from the fields on the farm,” they tease on their website, adding: “There is nowhere you’ll be safe and nowhere we won’t be waiting for you!” Of course, this is an evening activity, but its one you'd want to do under a clear sky.

Fall Foliage Hunting

You'll still be able to view the fall foliage when the rain comes, but things will look decidedly more dreary. While the sun is here, however, you'll be able to see one of mother's nature's most artful displays. Indeed, the local foliage looks vibrant in the sunshine. Check out some of the best places to view the autumnal magic here.

The weather may be cooling down in Metro Vancouver, but fall hikes are the perfect way to experience fall. Not only will you be privy to an abundance of beautiful foliage, but you’ll also get to enjoy the crisp weather. What's more, there are a number of relatively easy hikes to do near the city that end with breathtaking views.

Halloween Costume Shopping

While some people prefer to visit one store to pick up their Halloween costume, others prefer to go "haunting." In other words, they like to make a day out of picking out their spookiest attire. Luckily, Vancouver has some of the most awesome places to score a spooky, silly, terrifying, whimsical or just plain ridiculous costume. As such, it can be fun to transit or walk around the city, visiting thrift shops and stopping for snacks along the way.

Farmer's Market

While most outdoor farmer's markets close for the season during the fall, many of them have their last events in October. As such, you might want to use one of the month's final sunny days to visit a market. What's more, a number of new ones open up that are indoors, and so you may opt to try one of those after.
