The vehicle is one of a number of belongings officers are rounding up as part of their investigation. They say the man regularly parked in the rear parking lot of his building, in the 500 block of Sixth Avenue, but it is missing and officers are trying to determine if it was taken without his permission, according to the release.

“We would like to ensure that all of his property is secure and turned over to his family,” Sgt. Jeff Scott said in the release.

The vehicle is a blue, 1998, four-door Toyota Corolla with a B.C. licence plate, number 985 MSB. If anyone sees this vehicle, they are asked to call the New Westminster Police Department at 604-525-5411 or 911.

Police have not said when or where the man died and why they are investigating.
