There were multiple-sailing waits between Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen on Thursday, and B.C. Ferries says Friday will also be busy.
According to the corporation's traffic forecast for the long weekend, ferry traffic in both directions is expected to be very busy from 11 am on.
As of 6:30 am Friday, the 7 am sailings in both directions were full and several of the later sailings were showing that more than 50 per cent of the deck space was committed.
On Thursday, several sailings reached capacity.
