While the weather forecast includes less rain today, a wind warning is in place for most of Metro Vancouver. What's more, a hazardous winter storm warning is in effect for one B.C. highway.

Environment Canada advises that travellers should consider postponing non-essential travel on the Coquihalla highway on the Hope to Merritt section tonight.

An extremely intense Pacific cold front is predicted to move across the Coquihalla Highway and bring 15 centimetres of snow and winds with gusts of wind up to 90 km/h.

As a result, the weather will contribute to very poor visibility in blowing snow beginning this evening. Conditions will improve overnight as the winds ease, but it will be hazardous tonight as conditions in the mountains change quickly. In addition, poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.
