The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre is hosting an epic viewing party for one of the biggest celestial events of 2019.
The centre is staying open late for the total lunar eclipse, and is offering a special show in the Planetarium Star Theatre. They are encouraging visitors to learn more about the moon and eclipses and will have the observatory open so that guests may check out the moon up close through a telescope. What's more, the next total lunar eclipse won't take place until 2021, which makes the event very special.
If it is a rainy night, however, the centre will provide a live feed of the eclipse in the Planetarium Star Theatre.
The Observatory is open from 6:30pm until 10:30pm, but there will be a Planetarium Star Theatre show from 7:00pm until 8:00pm. Of course, the total eclipse occurs between 8:41 pm and 9:43 pm, so you’ll have time to see the show in the planetarium as well as visit the rest of the observatory.
