Thursday's huge wind storm is already wreaking havoc on travel plans for those using BC Ferries to and from the lower mainland.
BC Ferries has cancelled a significant portion of today's sailings, primarily those departing from and arriving to Tsawwassen, as well as early morning sailings in and out of Horseshoe Bay.
- Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay
- Tsawwassen-Duke Point
- Tsawwassen-Southern Gulf Islands
- Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay
- Comox-Powell River
- Hornby Island to Denman Island
BC Ferries says they will update the cancellations after 9:30 am Thursday, however the winds are expected to increase as the day progresses, with Environment Canada warning that Thursday afternoon could find gusts of over 100 km/h across the lower mainland.
If you are travelling via BC Ferries today or are anticipating a passenger's arrival, be sure to check @bcferries on Twitter for frequent updates on the status of Thursday's sailings.
