Hazardous driving conditions are expected on some major B.C. highways as a significant winter storm hits the interior.
Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the Trans-Canada Highway - Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass, as well as the Yellowhead Highway - Tête Jaune Cache to the Alberta Border.
According to the alert, there will be light snow today but a low pressure system will move across the Columbias later tonight. Following this, snow will intensify and continue through the night and into Saturday. As a result, snowfall amounts of up to 30 cm are expected by Saturday evening.
In addition, the department issued a snowfall warning for 100 mile, the B.C. Peace River, Bulkley Valley and The Lakes, Cariboo, McGregor, Prince George, North Thompson, and Highway 97 - Pine Pass.

As a result of the weather in the mountains, driving conditions may suddenly become hazardous. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
