According to Passport Index, the Canadian passport is one of the most powerful passports in the world.

In fact, Canada's passport ranked fourth in the 2019 Global Passport Power Rank. With that in mind, it was a nine-way tie for fourth place; however, there are 94 rankings on the list, which means it finished close to the top.

Passports are ranked by their total visa-free score, as well as visas they may acquire upon arrival. The United Arab Emirates took the top spot with a visa-free score of 167. The Middle Eastern country's passport holders may enter 113 countries visa-free and acquire a visa in 54 countries upon arrival. They only require a visa in 31 countries.
