While it is sunny in the city today, the Vancouver weather forecast is calling for freezing rain and snow tomorrow.

Vancouver Is Awesome spoke to Matthew MacDonald, Meteorologist, Environment Canada, who explained that the clear skies won't last long.

"Overnight temperatures will drop because winds will be outflowing from the interior of the province. Following this, Vancouver will see rain that will likely turn into snow mixed with rain or freezing rain on Tuesday afternoon," he described.

"Of course, higher elevations, such as those on Burnaby Mountain, Coquitlam, and the North Shore may see accumulations of snowfall."

On Wednesday, January 9, MacDonald states that the temperatures are expected to rise a few degrees. In addition, the forecast calls for rain on Wednesday, which is expected to continue through the week and into the weekend.

Higher elevations in Metro Vancouver saw snowfall accumulations in December, and December 2018’s snowfall in Whistler broke a 24-year-old record.
