High-risk sex offender fails to return to Vancouver halfway house

Vancouver Police are asking the public for help after a high-risk sex offender failed to return to his Vancouver halfway house on Wednesday, January 9.

Fifty-year-old Gerald Richard McLean is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant and is a two-time federal offender. He is serving a long-term supervision order after completing his original sentence for sexual assault.

McLean was first convicted of sexually assaulting a child in 2000 and a teenager in 1995.

McLean is described as caucasian, 5’8”, 170 pounds, and has light brown hair with green eyes and a goatee.

Anyone who sees Gerald McLean, or knows of his whereabouts, is asked not to approach him and to call 9-1-1 immediately.
