Chinese New Year is coming up on Feb. 5, but festive events will be kicking off soon all around the Lower Mainland to welcome the Year of the Pig.

Flower Market
A visit to the Yaohan Centre Flower Market during this time of the year is a great way to get into the spirit of Chinese New Year. The market is the perfect place to soak up in the joy of the festivities and pick up a few items to decorate the house.

Bodhi Meditation Chinese New Year Market Place

Live Countdown Shows to Chinese New Year of the Pig 2019 at Aberdeen Centre
There will be two live variety stage shows presented by Fairchild Radio and Television featuring cultural performances by winners of the Miss Chinese Vancouver Pageant, music, dance, fortune telling, giveaways and more. There will also be a live broadcasted countdown to the Chinese New Year of the Pig.

Bodhi Meditation New Year’s Eve Blessing Ceremony
On New Year's Eve, ring in the New Year and offer the first candle and incense to Buddha and pray for good luck and fortune in the year to come. Aberdeen Centre’s Golden Dragon & Lion Dance
Watch the golden dragon and eight lions come alive after a traditional eye-dotting ceremony and a live firecracker display! After the outdoor spectacle, the lions will travel to all three levels of the mall visiting stores to perform the pick-the-green ceremonies.
