The incident took place after 5 p.m. at Stepping Stone Holistic Living Store on Kingsway, when two masked suspects entered the premises and "made demands."

Police say one suspect drew a weapon and fired a shot inside what they are calling the "holistic" store. A customer, a 32-year-old Vancouver man, was struck by the bullet, but his injuries were not life-threatening, and he was treated in hospital.

The suspects fled the shop before police arrived on scene.

Stepping Stone Holistic Living "offers the best quality medicinal cannabis, hemp CBD and herbal products, as well as professional holistic services," according to their website (which requires 19+ age affirmation to enter). The shop produces their "own line of topical products, cannabis & herbal tinctures, herbal supplements and CBD products." In addition to the store at 2487 Kingsway, Stepping Stone offers retail sales online.

According to the City of Vancouver website, Stepping Stone has neither a municipal development permit nor the business license to sell cannabis in Vancouver.

It is unclear if the robbers successfully removed property or money from the store.

No description of the suspects was provided by the VPD.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about this robbery to call the VPD's Major Crime Unit at (604)-717-2541 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
